Are you purchasing a home that already has an installed system and you're wanting a clear picture of how the system is performing? If so, Rocklin Solar Repair, your one-stop-shop for your inspection needs, is here to serve you. A solar system is an electrical unit that should be maintained and monitored in conjunction with the rest of the home. We understand how to make sure your system is up to date, in compliance with the local regulations and requirements and performing as it should.
Don't assume a home inspection covers the solar system, home inspectors will not perform a residential solar inspection. Home inspectors do not offer to perform solar inspections because they do not have the required expertise to evaluate a solar system.
Visual Inspection: Check for visible damages, such as cracks, chips, or panel discoloration. Also, inspect the mounting equipment for any signs of wear and tear.
Structural Integrity: Ensure that the panels are securely fastened, and there’s no looseness in the mounting structure. If the panels are installed on a roof, check the roof for any signs of damage or leaks.
Shading & Soiling: Check that the panels are clean and free from dust, dirt, bird droppings, leaves, or snow. These can block sunlight and reduce the efficiency of the panels. Look for any obstacles, such as trees or buildings, that might be causing shading on the panels.
Wiring and Connections: Inspect the wiring and electrical connections for any signs of corrosion, fraying, or loose connections.
Inverter Inspection: The inverter converts the DC electricity generated by the solar panels into AC electricity that can be used in your home. Check that the inverter is functioning properly and displaying the correct readings.
Safety Measures: Ensure that all safety measures, such as grounding and isolation devices, are in place and working correctly. Solar Systems must also display the proper safety labels that identify the system parts and features. We check for missing or improperly labeled equipment.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the power output of your solar panels. If there’s a significant drop in their performance, it might indicate an issue that needs to be addressed.
Erin Clark started Rocklin Solar Repair to fill a much needed void in the solar industry (Inspection & Repair work). Most solar companies are only looking for new installations. However, there are tens of thousands of solar systems that need repair and the original contractor won't honor the warranty or they are out of business. At Rocklin Solar Repair, Inspecting and repairing solar systems is what we do best.
We also help home buyers and sellers during real estate transactions. If you are a home buyer and the home has a solar system, don't you want to know if the solar system is working to its potential? Also, if you are selling a home, getting a solar inspection prior to listing the home will give the new buyer peace of mind that the solar system is working as intended.
Over the years we have learned a thing or two about how to treat a customer. We live and play in the community we serve and see our customers every day. We want our customers to not only end up satisfied but feel comfortable enough to recommend us to their friends and family.
